Capacity Building Seminar – Malta 2017
100Mirrors Inclusive: Tools for the motivation of enterprising disabled women is an EU funded project under Erasmus + KA2 – Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices. As one of the deliverables of the project 100Mirrors Inclusive organised a Capacity Building Seminar in Malta from the 23rd to the 29th April 2017. The training took place at Luzzu Conference in Qawra.
The aim of this High-Level Capacity Building Seminar was to have an international exchange of information on inclusive entrepreneurship actions across the European Union and on how the European Union Structural Funds can be used to support actions that combine entrepreneurship promotion and social inclusion.
The capacity building seminar gave space to the 22 participants that attended to exchange experiences and discuss common issues with regard to the development of strategies, programmes and actions. In particular, it considered ways in which inclusive entrepreneurship strategies were linked to mainstream policies in the fields of employment, education and skills, and economic growth. Participants had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work and presented their own programmes and policies as part of the discussion.
The participants visited Foundation for Information Technology Accessibility (F.I.T.A.) where they were greeted by Mr. Stanley Debono, CEO of FITA and other members. They were given a presentation on the remit of this organisation and also had a chance to ask questions. The participants also had another visit to the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD), where again Ms. Rhoda Garland has very kindly arranged for a presentation and also a tour of the premises. Apart from the training activities and field visits, the participants also had some time to socialise in the evenings and visit some interesting places on the beautiful Island of Malta.
